South Coast - Jervis Bay - Shoalhaven

From the sublime coastline to the emerald hinterland, the Jervis BAy and Shoalhaven region of NSW is a lovely holiday destination. Enjoy magnificent beaches, spectacular national parks and memorable animal encounters, from kangaroos on the beach to dolphins and whales in the crystal-blue of Jervis Bay.

The Shoalhaven is a popular rock climbing destination, featuring quality rock surfaces and diverse climbing routes. Outdoor Raw and Nowra Climb offer great climbing experiences.  

The Shoalhaven River, which flows through Nowra, and the Kangaroo River in Kangaroo Valley are popular areas for kayaking and other adventure activities. Water sports are popular at Callala Bay, Huskisson and Vincentia in Jervis Bay, as well as St Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet and Lake Conjola.  

You’ll find many more extraordinary things to do and see, including scenic drives to gorgeous attractions such as wineries, waterfalls, antique stores and a famous donut shop. For coastal adventure, join tours for dolphin and whale watching, kayaking and fishing, and diving and surfing.

The food and wine experiences are delicious. Taste freshly shucked oysters from Australia’s Oyster Coast. You can savour locally caught seafood at fine restaurants. You’ll be delighted with the locally made cheeses and gourmet treats, and the Shoalhaven Coast wine region’s vineyards and cellar doors.

The hinterland is inspiring, with charming towns, shops and cafes, and rejuvenating day spas. Explore the inland favourites of Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Milton, a great base for climbing nearby Pigeon House Mountain. Milton is also close to the enchanting seaside towns of Mollymook and Ulladulla.

The Shoalhaven area is one of the country’s leading pet-friendly destinations. With beaches, parks, rivers and trails to choose from, there are plenty of opportunities to run, play and relax in the company of your dog.
