Kalbarri

The renowned coastal holiday resort town of Kalbarri is situated approximately 585 kilometres north of Perth, and then positioned 66 kilometres west off the North West Coastal Highway requiring approximately a six and a half hour drive. Kalbarri serves as a popular stopover for visitors en route to or from Monkey Mia and the Shark Bay World Heritage region.

Distinguished for its pristine beaches, breathtaking gorges, and exceptional fishing opportunities, this seaside town is located at the mouth of the Murchison River. Surrounded by the expansive 186,000-hectare Kalbarri National Park, the area boasts over 800 varieties of flowering plants and shrubs, alongside some of the state's most awe-inspiring river and ocean gorge landscapes.

Kalbarri's distinctive environment features clean and safe river beaches, ocean side beaches with remarkable rock pools, and the internationally acclaimed Jacques Point, renowned for its left point surf break catering to avid surfers. Towering coastal sandstone cliffs bordering coastal reef fringes serve as excellent viewing platforms for the frequent visits of whales and dolphins.

Within the magical National Park Gorges, now equipped with two skywalks and with the Murchison River as a scenic backdrop, visitors of all ages can find engaging activities. The town has recently introduced a new cycle/walk path along the foreshore, passing the newly completed environmentally friendly pirate playground.
