This is a great cottage, not large but deceptively roomy, with doors used to create private spaces; handy for families. It is well located near lots of facilities, shops, services and beaches. Kitchen has heaps of utensils, pots/pans, crockery etc. Contained backyard great for pooches to have a wander. Friendly lorikeets and magpies will come to down back deck and say g'day and take a piece of bread from your hand. Would come back - but maybe in warmer months next time!

We've been coming to Ruby's for a few years - it caters perfectly for our young family, including furbaby. If we ever have an issue, O'Meara/McGrath has always been quick to respond and action. Just a short walk to Little Beach, Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay, the home is perfectly located for endless beach days and activities. The home itself suits us perfectly. We'll be back for sure. Lovely and clean house. Well stocked kitchen with everything you might need. Great TV in the loungeroom. Not so great TV in the bedroom.

This house is one of the nicest pet friendly homes we have ever stayed at. It's floor plan is excellent with the bedrooms separated from the living area. It has a large kitchen, a large fully fenced back yard that our dog Mia really enjoyed - lots of places to sniff, a covered outdoor deck area and a very comfortable and large living area. To top it off there are two showers and two toilets (one in the laundry).

We really enjoyed our stay at Ruby’s Retreat, so did our fur baby. The house was very clean and had all the comforts for a great stay. It is in an idyllic location within walking distance to Shoal Bay and into Nelson Bay and of course Little Beach. We have already rebooked to return in March for another relaxing stay😉 And it is a rare find to find a great house where dogs of any size are allowed inside. Will definitely recommend. Jo

We recently stayed at Ruby’s Retreat for two weeks. The house is lovely with plenty of room for the family and comfortable beds. It also has a large deck out the back which we used everyday. The back yard is completely enclosed for the children and fur babies. We will definitely stay there again. Our only suggestion would be to include Wifi for your guests.

The house was very clean and tidy. The backyard was pleasant to sit on the back verandah for afternoon drinks and nibbles. The house is advertised as boat friendly....IT is NOT boat friendly. The driveway is too narrow and steep to get a boat into. The trailer bottoms out and won't physically get down the driveway. The lighting in the house is poor and the main bedroom has obviously had a roof leak so the room was very musty with an unpleasant odour. The house is overall a good package.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Ruby’s Retreat. Met all needs. Beautifully furnished and had everything one could possibly need. Sunny and bright with a lovely flat garden where the kids and dogs had lots of fun every day. A real delight.

The house is comfortable with everything you will need for a relaxing time away in Nelson bay. Easy walk to the beach, enclosed backyard so the kids can play and amazingly clean and renovated bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay. Will be back for sure. You wont be disappointed with Rubys retreat.
