Roscrea had so much space both indoor and outdoor for all activities. Rooms were great, pool was fantastic and it was the perfect location to relax with no light, sound or distractions around. Something out of a novel.

Roscrea Homestead is set in a private and tranquil setting, on a working beef cattle property at Glen William on the banks of the picturesque Williams River.
Few of us are lucky enough to call this beautiful region home – most of us are probably urban, likely rushed, stressed, harried and tired.
Sometimes we just need a place like this to recharge our batteries for a time.
We will tell you upfront - when you’re at the property you just don’t want to leave.
Sure there’s lots of things you can do during your stay; you can enjoy fishing or picnicking on the river; visiting surrounding historic towns such as Dungog, Paterson or Morpeth; walking in the nearby World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops National Park; taking a BBQ lunch to Chichester Dam or exploring Australia’s famous Hunter Valley wine district.
However – we want to be honest and tell you that there’s something so magical about being there that you won’t even want to go to the shops for food! Originally built as a getaway for RM Williams Chief Executive Group – it is now available to anyone needing to dip their toe into a place that soothes the soul.
Perfect for families and friends to stay for holidays or just the weekend, as all rooms have a private bathroom, which is essential for communal stays.
Importantly – there is plenty to keep the kids entertained (and you in peace!).
There is a swimming pool, a spring-free trampoline, a cubby house, a media/playroom – and not least wide-open spaces, fresh country air and nature.
If peace and solitude is what you are seeking – well we have that in spades.
The energy of the place is such that you will immediately and arrestingly feel healed, and nurtured.
Our beautiful homestead is everything your mind runs to when you think about a country escape.
Fully renovated, the property can sleep up to 12 guests with all bedrooms opening onto the generous wrap-around verandah.
The main homestead sleeps 8, featuring 4 large bedrooms (3 queen and 1 twin) each with their own bathroom.
Along the verandah there are 2 lovely extra queen bedrooms with ensuites to accommodate a further 4 guests, which are available at an additional cost of $95 per person per night.
Daily room servicing is also available at an additional cost.
The home is luxuriously yet comfortably furnished and features; a separate rumpus/TV room, laundry and large return verandahs with expansive rural views.
Superbly equippedThe large country-style gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all the mod cons you expect – new appliances, including huge fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and Smeg cooktop and oven.
The superb lounge / dining area is complete with comfortable lounge and armchairs, a large dining table and combustion fire.
Location: Roscrea Homestead is located about 5km from the village of Clarence Town and 25km from Dungog.
It is approximately 2 hours from Sydney, 45 minutes from Newcastle and the Hunter Valley vineyards.
Limousine, coach, or helicopter transport from Newcastle airport, to and from the Hunter Valley vineyards and concerts can be arranged.

We recently stayed at Roscrea Estate for our family’s annual Christmas in July weekend. Every detail of this place has been well thought out, well maintained and comes with the most picturesque surrounds. The accommodation was very comfortable, with each of our 4 families enjoying the privacy of their own bedrooms and adjoining ensuites. We spent each day soaking up the winter’s sun on the full wrap around verandah while the children enjoyed the use of the trampoline, cubbyhouse, bikes and surrounding gardens. There was no need to venture away for meals as the house included a well equipped kitchen, BBQ and large outdoor table setting placed directly in front of an outside fireplace- perfect for our winter break! To cap it off, each night we were able to retreat to the cosy lounge room area to sit in front of a second fireplace or stay comfortably warm in the ducted air conditioning! I would highly recommend this place to a family wanting to reconnect, rejuvenate and escape. We look forward to returning- possibly in the warmer weather so the children can also make use of the swimming pool!
My husband and I were fortunate to stay at Roscrea for a romantic get-away in October last year. The first thing we noticed when we climbed out of the car was the lack of traffic noise and the peace and quiet. The house has that wonderful quality of warm country comfort. We quickly settled in to “our home” for our four night stay. The days were warm enough to laze with our wine and books by the pool, fish, snooze or stroll and evenings cool enough to light the fire (more for the atmosphere than need). The large country kitchen and barbeque makes cooking a breeze for indoor or outdoor dining. The house provides so much space next time we ‘may’ invite friends or family to share...
